Betty Bamforth Obituary

Betty Lou Bamforth
Betty Lou Bamforth, 87, of Vernon, formerly of South Windsor, loving wife of the late Clarence Sykes Bamforth, peacefully, passed away, with her family at her side, on Monday, March 17, 2025. Betty Lou was born on September 27, 1937, the only child of the late Thomas and Lula Connors. She was raised on a farm in South Windsor and was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, Class of 1955.
Prior to her retirement, Betty Lou worked for AMF Cuno and Gerber Scientific. Positions she enjoyed and made many long-lasting friendships. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Vernon.
Betty Lou enjoyed summers in Maine, camping with friends and neighbors and her yearly trips to the Daytona 500 with family and friends. She had a love of NASCAR where she was an avid fan of Kyle Busch. Locally, she would attend races at Stafford Motor Speedway, Riverside Park and Thompson Speedway. Betty Lou was an animal lover, which was nurtured from her childhood, having grown up on a farm, raising her horses. Betty Lou was always thankful and said she was blessed as she was a survivor of the circus fire in Hartford.
She is survived by her two children, Ron Bamforth and his fiancée, Pam DelCampo of Stafford and Holly Buckley and her spouse, Peter of Stonington, her eight cherished grandchildren, Brittney Widmer (Tony), Cody Bamforth (Lauren), Mila Thomas, (Robert), Lucas Moore, partner (Steve Hozan), Casey Moore, Robert Mortenson, Dylan Buckley, fiancé (Ella) and Connor Buckley (Morgan) and her seven great-grandchildren, Alex Moore, Mia Daniels, Altheia and Elijah Mortenson and Beau, Zoey and Colton Bamforth. Betty Lou also leaves her beloved and longtime friend, Delores Robinson of Wells, Maine. In addition to her husband and parents, Betty Lou was predeceased by her daughter, Laurie Armstrong.
The Bamforth family would like to thank the staff at Vernon Manor for their wonderful and compassionate care for the last six years.
