Betty June Barronton, was called home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on January 9, 1932, she lived a life full of grace, compassion, and unwavering faith.
A strong Christian southern woman, she put God first, followed by her beloved family. Her deep commitment to her faith was evident in how she raised her children, instilling in them the importance of prayer and regular church attendance. She was dedicated to supporting her children through their challenges, another testament to her unyielding commitment to serving others.
A proud Southern woman, June was both tough and loving, embodying the spirit of resilience and warmth. Her passion for quilting became a ministry of its own. She lovingly crafted quilts for people overseas and made stuffed bears for children, spreading comfort and joy far and wide. Her commitment to helping those facing challenges extended to volunteering at the Cancer Center and Hospice, where her warmth and kindness touched many lives.
Preceded in death by her parents Horace and Jewel Wallis, her husband Edwin L. Barronton, her son Mark Barronton, and her brother Nicholas Wallis, June leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
She is survived by her cherished children: Michael Barronton (Sandy), Garry Barronton (Debbie), Teresa Barronton, Debbie Barronton, and Anita Brown (Kevin). Her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy, include Melissa Mize (Casey), Lindsey Taylor (Derek), Patrick Barronton, Tiffany Powers (Brandon), Casey Anderson (Zach), Spencer Barronton (Jenna), Renee BonneCarrere, Brittney Bonsignore (Corey), Courtney Goldstein (Matt), and Brandon Barronton (Camry). June was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Peyton, Caleb, Katelyn, Afton, Ryan, Lee, Luke, Lane, Abby, Libby, Logan, Lincoln, Bentley, Alaina Grace, Averly, and Millie. She also leaves behind her dear sister Janice Wallis Harris, along with numerous friends who were touched by her generosity and love.
Services to honor the life of Betty June Barronton will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11 o'clock at Southwest Christian Church, with Minister James White officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
June's strength, love, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
