Betty Jean (Kissling) Boeschel, 92 of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025.

Born in Louisville to the late Reynold and Elizabeth Kissling, she lived her whole life in the same home until she married Jack Boeschel. They were married for 72 years. After graduating from DuPont Manual High School she was secretary to the superintendent of the Louisville Board of Education until the birth of her first child. She was a very active member of Zion United Church of Christ and later, St Andrew United Church of Christ.

As a mother, Betty was very active in Girls Scouts, Cub Scouts, and any activities involving her children and grandchildren. She was patient, kind, and always had a smile on her face. She was willing to volunteer for various organizations. One organization she was particularly dedicated to was Brooklawn Auxiliary where she was president for 10 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jack Boeschel, her brother, LT. Col. Lamar Kissling, his wife Joanna, and her son-in-law, Michael Mindel.

Betty is survived by her children, Robert J. Boeschel (Becky), Jackie Mindel, and Alan J. Boeschel (Sandra); her grandchildren, Christopher Mindel, Thomas Mindel (Michelle), Caitlin Boeschel, Jacob Boeschel (Emily), Kevin Troxell (Amber) and Erin Troxell; her great-grandchildren, Adeline, Wesley and Lily Troxell, her sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Lewis and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for Betty will be from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, 40205 with her funeral service at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Andrew United Church of Christ.
