Betty C. Brown, 92, of Westborough, MA, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on October 31, 2025.

Betty was born and raised in Worcester. She graduated from North High School. After graduating, she worked at Memorial Hospital. She and her husband, Paul, had an amazing life living in Germany, Ohio, and then returning to Massachusetts.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adored grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends, going to yard sales, and going to the casino. Betty will be remembered for her generosity and kindness to all. She loved helping others. She helped start the Outreach Program at the First United Methodist Church in Westborough to help adolescents. She was always concerned about them because she thought that was the age group that was forgotten. She loved to have Christmas Parties at the Adolescent Unit at the former Westborough State Hospital and then at the Worcester Recovery Center. She also loved sending things to the children in Appalachia.

Betty is survived by her four children: Paul W. Brown III; Douglas Brown and his wife Robin; Susan Swirbalus and her husband Robert; Kristin Nyren and her husband Jeffrey. Betty leaves four grandchildren: Jessica Whittier and her husband Christopher; Justin Brown and his wife Carol; Paige and Brooke Nyren. She leaves her brother-in-law, Raymond Brown and wife Cathleen; nephew Steven Jones; and nieces Karen Golding and Amy Brown. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years Paul; her parents, Enfrid [Carl] and Hilda (Anderson); her brothers Robert and John Carlson; her sister, Grayce Jones; her nephew Bradley Jones; sisters-in-law Logie Brown, Evelyn Carlson, and BettyJane Carlson; and brother-in-law Calvin Jones.

We would like to thank Right At Home in Westborough for the amazing caregivers they provided for Betty. We cannot thank her caregivers (Betty, Kathy, Jenny, Doris, Nikki, and Gloria) enough for going above and beyond in the care they gave her. We would also like to thank the VNA Care Hospice, Inc. for the nurses who helped keep her comfortable.

Betty’s Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s honor to the Shriners Children’s Hospital - Boston (Attn: Office of Philanthropy, 51 Blossom St, Boston, MA 02114) or to VNA Care Hospice, Inc. (67 Millbrook Street, Worcester, MA 01606).

Blessings to All!
