Mrs. Betty Louise Poole Butler, daughter of the late Willie and Dorothy Scales Poole, was born on November 17, 1945, in New York, NY. She departed this life on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025, at the age of 79, from Ashton Health and Rehabilitation in McLeansville, NC.

She attended Guilford County Public Schools. She was united in holy matrimony to the late James L. Butler on June 2, 1963. To this union, they raised two daughters, Tina B. Crawford and Debbie B. McRae, and a son, James R. Butler.

Betty loved the Lord, and she was a faithful member at Beauty Spot United Methodist Church in Rowland, NC prior to her illness. She was a dedicated healthcare professional whose career spanned four decades. Her journey began at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC, and in 1980, she relocated to Rowland, NC. She later served as a Nurse Assistant Supervisor and Secretary at the Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC, where she worked until her retirement. Known for her compassion and commitment, she was deeply respected and warmly regarded by colleagues and patients alike.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James L. Butler; a sister, the late Mrs. Dena Foust; and a great grandson, the late Bryson L. Grantham and one sister-in-law with whom she had a great relationship with Gladys Butler Leach..

Betty leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters, Tina B. Crawford of Greensboro, NC and Debbie B. McRae (Darryl) of Charlotte, NC; one son, James R. Butler of Greensboro, NC; one grandson, Brian T. Butler of Winston-Salem, NC; one granddaughter, Danielle S.Grantham (Ethan) of Henderson, NC; two great granddaughters, Gracelyn M. Grantham and Mahaley M. Grantham of Henderson, NC; three brothers, Mr. Willie Poole, Jr., Mr. Randy Poole (Vera), and Mr. Michael Poole (Sara), all of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Ms. Linda Poole of High Point, NC and Mrs. Pamela (Garland) Davis of Greensboro, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends, Mrs. Jackie, Mrs. Gertrude, Sara Sutton, Vera Davis, Carol Young, and Faye Watson and family. Betty shared a deep bond with her family and adored being a grandmother and great grandmother. Her warmth, loyalty, and genuine care for others made her a beloved presence in the lives of those closest to her.
