Betty June Capps-Johnson, known to those who loved her as a remarkable and spirited presence, peacefully departed this world on February 12, 2026, at her home in Louisville, Colorado. Born on December 11, 1936, in Denver, Colorado, Betty was a proud graduate of East High School, ready to embrace a life marked by dedication, humor, and love.
Throughout her varied career, Betty was a devoted homemaker and skilled seamstress, whose creative talents were well-known among her friends and family. Her professional journey also included many years as a purchaser for Honeywell, where her keen eye for detail and knack for negotiation made her a respected figure in her field. Following her time at Honeywell, she remained an integral part of her community, engaging in frequent get-togethers with friends while playing cards and games.
Betty’s character was aptly described by her own words, proclaiming that “diamonds and dynamite come in small packages,” reflecting her short stature and mighty spirit. She lived a full life rich with experiences, laughter, and the fulfillment that comes from nurturing those around her. A natural caregiver, Betty took it upon herself to care for many family members during times of sickness and aging, embodying the love and compassion that defined her essence.
Her proudest accomplishments centered around family, a priority she held dear throughout her life. As a strong woman with unwavering determination, Betty possessed a zest for life. She delighted in sewing and served for many years as the secretary of a local bowling league, further showcasing her diversity of interests.
Betty leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Ranee Sanderson, son-in-law Richard Sanderson, and a legacy in the form of four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her brother, Larry Brant, also mourns her loss as they shared a bond filled with love and support.
She is preceded in death by her father Oscar Brant, mother Madeline Peyton, sister Annie Connor, and sons Michael A. Breffle and Dennis Breffle. Each of them will surely welcome her with open arms as they reunite once more.
The warmth of Betty's spirit and the cherished memories she leaves behind will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service in honor of Betty will take place at 12:00 PM, on March 6, 2026, at Horan & McConaty, located at 9998 Grant St, Thornton, Colorado. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to stay for a reception where food and bevereages will be provided.
