Betty Anne Carrington

Betty Anne Carrington, 77, of Wasilla Alaska passed away on July 25, 2025, surrounded by family and dear friends. Born on October 25, 1947, in Henderson, Tennessee, Betty lived a life marked by compassion, service, and a deep love for family, friends and community.
Betty grew up in a home rooted in faith, graduated from Lexington High School in Tennessee, and pursued some college education before marrying John Carrington in 1968. Though she did not serve in active military duty, Betty stood faithfully beside her husband for 22 years of service embodying strength and dedication throughout their shared journey.
Betty found her greatest joy in helping others-especially children and the elderly-always striving to improve their quality of life. Her generous spirit and boundless hospitality left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Whether offering a warm meal or a listening ear, Betty's kindness was unwavering.
After relocating to Alaska with her husband, Betty embraced the adventurous spirit of the Last Frontier. Together they built their own home-a testament to their resilience and partnership-and she took full advantage of the natural beauty and opportunities that surrounded them.
Betty's faith remained an important part of her life. Having grown up with strong spiritual roots, she later reconnected with her beliefs as an adult, drawing strength from them during life's many seasons.
Those who knew Betty will remember her big heart, unwavering hospitality, and enduring love for children, friends, and family. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched with grace and generosity.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband John Carrington, daughter Michelle Carrington, and sister-in-laws Barbara Worrell and Paulette Melton. Betty is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and extended family in Tennessee. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ruby Melton and her brother Don Melton.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on August 16, 2025, at 02:00 PM at Valley Church of Christ, 1125 Majestic View Circle, Wasilla, AK 99654.
