Mrs. Betty Bynum, 90, of Fort Payne, AL, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

Mrs. Betty Marshel Chambliss-Bynum was born to the union of the late John & Josie Chambliss on March 5,1935 in Fort Payne, Alabama.

She passed away from this life on Saturday, October 4,2025

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Irby C. Bynum.

Betty confessed faith in God at an early age and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Douglas. She was a faithful Mother of the Church and a member of the First Baptist Senior Choir for many years.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, John & Josie Chambliss; her husband, Irby C. Bynum; three sisters, Helen Fallin, Lee Dell Chambliss and Olivia Bynum.

She leaves to cherish her memories to: her nieces, Virginia (Robert), Joyce, Cindy, Kathy, Renea (James), Robin (Kevin), Veronica (Kenneth), Shelia, Priscilla, Theresa (Terry), Keyetilla, Diane, Peggy and Dorothy; nephews, Samuel, Stevie and Randy; A host of many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

We ask that you please keep this family in your hearts and prayers during their time of bereavement.

Public viewing will be Saturday, October11,2025 from 12noon-5pm.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 12,2025 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Douglas. (Fort Payne, AL) Eulogist: Reverend Tommie Price. Interment: Glennwood Cemetery
