Betty M. Chase, 91 passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at McClure Miller Respite House, Colchester, VT. Betty was born on May 26, 1934, in New Bedford, MA to Joseph and Lillian Silva. She had a deep love for her family and enjoyed family gatherings and cooking with several of the family members. She was an avid reader, loved gardening, had a passion for jigsaw puzzles and loved sewing, knitting and crochet. She enjoyed making sweaters and clothes for her grandchildren, homemade Christmas ornaments and she also knitted over 500 prayer shawls for the local hospital. Betty was also fortunate to travel all over the world and would talk about her travels often.

Betty was predeceased by her son Michael. She is survived by her sons Harold, Bill and Thomas Lewis and his wife Fatima, former daughter-in-law Monica Lewis, 12 grandchildren (Hal, Aaron, Tony, Dylan, Tara and husband Kyle, Caleb and wife Corinne, Brady and wife Cassidy, Tristan, Kayden, Rachel, Kyle and wife Brittney and Matthew) and two great grandchildren (Mia and Mason). Betty's last several days were peaceful and she was surrounded by family.

There will be a celebration of life for Betty on Monday, October 13, 2025 starting 12:00pm at The Tempson Barn, 695 Town Farm Dr., Lyndonville, VT. All are welcome to join the family to remember the extraordinary life she lived and to share their stories of how Betty touched their lives.
