GLENFIELD - Betty Lou "Betts" Csizmar, 71, died on Wednesday evening, August 7, 2024 at her home under the care of her family and Lewis County Hospice.
Betts was born on January 14, 1953 in Lowville the daughter of the late Clifford J. and Eleanor E. (Zehr) Bailey. She graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School, the Class of 1971. Betty Lou married John George Csizmar on September 25, 1971 at Lowville Baptist Church, with Rev. Willard Newman, officiating. Betts worked for Durr, Riley and King Law Office, C & K Grocery, and Wood Hill Market. She and John made their home on the Otter Creek Road.
Surviving are her husband, John, their children, Michelle L. LaPrade (Carlton); Michael J. Csizmar; her granddaughter, Ashley R. (Joey Barakat) LaPrade; her brothers and sisters, Frank C. (Leslie) Bailey; Gene C. (Cindy) Bailey; Suzanne G. Bailey; Melody L. Vance; and Laurie (Jerry) Millard; her brother-in-law, Randy "Jim" Andre`; her uncle, Vernon and Cheryl Bailey; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Betty is predeceased by her sister, Barbara L. Andre`, and her brother-in-law, John M. Vance.
Betts loved spending time at the Bailey Camp with extended family. She was a woman of great faith and cherished her family. She did puzzles, enjoyed reading, and always could be found in her chair, using the computer.
Calling hours will be on Friday, August 16th, at the Sundquist Funeral Home, from 11am to 2:00pm. Her funeral will follow at 2:00pm, at the funeral home, with Rev. Brenda Brucker, officiating. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery.
All are welcome to the 3-G Fire Hall for a luncheon following the services. Any food donations or dish to pass may be dropped off after 9:00am on Friday.
