Betty J. Drummonds

Betty Jo Drummonds, 86, of Edinburg, Virginia passed away on September 19, 2025. A funeral service will be held Friday September 26, 2025, at 11:00am at Christ United Church of Christ in Conicville, Va. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday September 25th from 5-7 at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg.

Betty was born on February 17, 1939, to the late James Edward Dellinger and Mazie Ellen Barb Dellinger. She graduated from Triplett High School in June 1958. In October 1961, she married the late Richard Jasper Drummonds and moved to Washington DC. Betty created a warm and loving home and lived a life full of kindness and unwavering love for her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, and she dedicated her life to raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her two children, Denise Kaiser of Owings, MD and her husband Douglas Kaiser and Angela Maxwell of Ft. Washington, MD and her husband Leonard Maxwell. She is also survived by her granddaughters Madison Kaiser, Amanda Maxwell and Elizabeth Maxwell.

One of 11 children, Betty is survived by brothers Preston "Jack" Dellinger and John Paul Dellinger; and sisters Mary Ellen Barb, Ruby Baker, Emma Geraldine Evans, Nancy Jean Hines and Judy Irene Gochenour and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceasing her was her husband Richard Jasper Drummonds, two brothers Edward "Jim" Dellinger and Stephen Walter Dellinger, and her sister Mildred "Sally" Painter.

Betty loved to garden and bake. Her laughter, warmth and wittiness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
