Betty Marie Elkins

Betty Marie Elkins, age 86, of Haleyville, AL, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, surrounded by family at her residence. She was born to Allen and Gertie Booth on August 29, 1938. Betty was valedictorian of her senior class and later in life received her college degree in business. She married Howard Hugh Elkins and they were married for 58 years before his passing in 2014. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church, Haleyville, AL, a member of the Women’s Ministry, Choir and Genesis Sunday School Class. She enjoyed years of fellowship and friendship with her Bridge Club and had a gift of hosting and serving others in her community. Betty is survived by her children, Steve (Janet) Elkins, Daphne, AL, Karen (Dale) Powers, Lexington, MS, Mike (Millie) Elkins, Haleyville, AL and Lisa (Darrell) Daigre, Raleigh, NC; one sister, Barbara Turner; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Shane) Balhatchet, Kate (Bear) Rosamond, Sara (Chase) Jones, Lauren (Jacob) Kitchens, Tyler Elkins, Claire (Carson) Beard, Taylor (Vivienne) Daigre, Drew (Taylor) Elkins and Parker Daigre and fourteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hugh Elkins; parents, Allen and Gertie Booth and two brothers, Thomas Allen Booth and Charles Booth. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Millie Elkins and Amedisys Hospice of Hamilton for the excellent care and love provided to her throughout her final years. Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of Visitation on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 1:00PM until time for services at 2:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Webster Memorial Gardens in Eupora, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Webster Memorial Gardens. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is honored to serve the Elkins family and is entrusted with all arrangements.
