Betty Jean Estes
October 2, 1949 – November 17, 2025
With deep love and aching hearts, the family of Betty Jean Estes ( Scheidegger)announces her passing on November 17, 2025 @ 2:50 pm surrounded by her family! Betty was born on October 2, 1949, in Mountain Home Arkansas to Virgle Mae and Delbert Harris, where she ran and owned AJ's Quickstop for many years. She spent her life pouring love, strength, and quiet grace into everyone blessed enough to know her.
Betty married David Allen Scheidegger on December 9,1969 in North Carolina where David was stationed in the Navy and they shared a beautiful life together until his passing in 1989. In 2003, she found companionship and friendship with Donald Willoughby. He remained by her side until the end.
She was the proud mother of two children:
Jeffrey (Kris) Scheidegger of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Kelly (Paul) Scheidegger Mitchell of Springfield, Missouri.
She also cherished her bonus son, Michael (Lori) Willoughby of Ash Grove, Missouri. Nothing brought Betty more joy than her family-especially her grandchildren. She adored each one: Kaleb, Kelsi, David, and Korei, and her bonus grandkids Kelsea, Michael, Kammi, Alena, Marishka, and Alivya. Her heart grew even fuller with the arrival of her great-grandchild:
MaryJane, and her bonus great-grandbabies Waylon, Wyatt, Kinzlea, Cambrie, Braxton, Brayson, Annaleigha, Lydia, Amelia, and Laeyden. We take comfort knowing she is now holding her heavenly great-grandbaby Brantley in her arms while being reunited with David and her family.
Betty lived a full and meaningful life-one marked by hard battles, tender moments, and unwavering grace. She loved fiercely, laughed easily, and showed her family how to endure life's hardest days with dignity and faith. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who loved her.
Her legacy lives on in every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild who carries her love forward.
Betty is survived by Donald Eugene Willoughby and Holly of the home.
Carol Evelyn Baker of Savannah, MO, and so many others that were fortunate enough to be loved by her!
Betty was proceeded in death by David Alan Scheidegger, her mother Virgle Mae Barnes, her father Delbert Junior Harris, her Brother Joe Allen Harris and her sister Colette Faye Harris along with many aunts, Uncles and cousins and Brantley (her bonus Great Grandbaby).
When Betty reached the gates of Heaven, she wasn't alone for a moment. Just past the glow of that golden light came the soft patter of familiar paws-Kiki with her sweet patience, Penny with her wagging excitement, Jack trotting with that loyal confidence, and little Rascal doing exactly what he always did best running ahead like he'd been waiting forever. They circled her with the love she poured into them all those years, each one recognizing her spirit long before she ever saw their faces. In that moment, Heaven didn't just welcome her-her babies did, too, reminding her that every bit of love she ever gave found its way back to her right at the gate.
Rest easy Momma, Love Kelly
