Short Biography:

Betty Elizabeth Garcia lived a life full of family and friends, whenever she was able to find time to visit them in their homes or at hers, she enjoyed these moments tremendously and was always helpful when dinner was prepared and shared with loved ones.

Betty grew up in the Denver Metro area, and as a child, Betty lived in the East Denver area with her mother Pauline Garcia and her brothers Phiip and Pat. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic school, then she graduated Manual High School and went into the workforce at a young age.

Over the years, Betty made many friends throughout her life and during her long career of primarily working as a school bus driver for K-12 and Special needs for DPS, Cherry Creek and other school districts, providing her love and guidance for thousands of children she adored, who she helped safely get to and from school every day. Betty found a special joy in working with more challenging children, helping them grow into better, more loving people. Many of the same friends and coworkers she made through the years have stayed in very close contact with Betty and she stayed in touch with them, and in return, they were present during Betty’s final moments.

Betty had made peace with her family and friends, either by reaching out to them or by prayer, and we know she truly hoped that others could find peace as well.

As a child and well into her adult years, one of Betty’s favorite things was to go dancing with her Mom and Dad at the La Bamba in North Denver. Her favorite NFL team is the Denver Broncos, and she always had her Bronco gameday gear on, especially during the season. Betty will always be an American patriot who loved her country and enjoyed seeing classic American muscle cars, “being driven by the classics,” as she would put it.

Betty will always be in our hearts and our memories, and she will bring us peace when we are unsure, and we will move along the path of life with the knowledge that she will always be waiting, so very excited to see us again.
