She was preceded in death by her son, Deshawn Hamby; father, Jerry Trowel; grandparents, Mary "Skippy" Trowel, Richard Trowel, Bertha Lee Green Hamby, Rudolph Hamby; aunts, Annette Hamby, Hattie White.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Alexis "Nunnie" Smith; grandchildren, Ry'Lee Diarra, Jaylin Edwards, Denym Hamby and Demir Hamby; mother, Georgetta Graham (David); siblings, Terrell Hamby (LaToya), Tiffany Valentine, JaQuita Knott, Amy Hamby (Atorian Hunter) and Quintez Trowell; special cousins, Tamika Hamby, Denisha Duncan, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation: 11am-1pm Friday, October 24, 2025 at Forest Tabernacle Baptist Church, 4205 E. Indian Trail, funeral service to follow at 1pm.
