Edgar Emerson Dyer, 83, joined his heavenly father Sunday, October 19, 2025. Ed was born in Louisville, Ky and lived his life in Louisville. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his love for people, big smile, positive attitude and kind heart. Ed could light up any room with laughter. He was retired from the Board of Education as Middle School Counselor.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson Dyer and Marguerite Owens Dyer; and sister, Ruthette Mangeot.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol Dyer; children, Michelle (Jay) Amshoff and Pamela (Jeff) Murphy; grandchildren, Trace (Tori) Amshoff, Cassie Amshoff and Parker Brandon; great-grandchild, Anna Grace Amshoff; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Ed's life will continue at 12pm there, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, Ky.
