On Sunday, February 11, 2024, Betty Carolyn Howard, Betty, age 85, passed away at her home. She was born to the late, Ralph Uster Howard and Lottie Mae Massey on December 19, 1938.
Betty attended Milton High School in Alpharetta Georgia before attending Lanier Technical College in Gainesville Georgia. Betty had a great work ethic, having many opportunities to exhibit her compassion and fun loving spirit. Betty shined best while driving the big yellow school bus for Forsyth County School System. Betty was often recognized by grown children that had been on that yellow bus, saying how much they loved her, even if she had to discipline them.
Betty provided support, anonymously, to those less fortunate to ensure their lives had a brighter future. Betty enjoyed life, family and friends and white elephant parties. She was the Queen with the white elephant gifts.
Proceeded in death was her infant son, Richard JL Turner.
Betty is survived by her son Thomas D. Turner, (Tom) and his partner of 30 years, Paul J. Fontaine, who Betty considered and loved as a son. Both are from Cumming Georgia.
Betty’s family also consisted of John C. Moody of Macon Georgia, and Becky Gabriel of Dawsonville, Georgia, both provided love and friendship during her life.
A special thank you to the Atlanta Hospice Care. Also to the many cousins, friends and neighbors, most especially Kathy Fowler, Marcia Seay, Patsy Ingram, Norris Ingram, Judy Massey, and Nancy Moody.
