Betty Ruth Hunt, age 102, of Asheboro, NC, passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 19, 1922, in Decatur, Georgia, to Fred and Ruth Stone, Betty lived a long, full, and faith-filled life.
Betty spent the majority of her life caring for others. From the moment she met someone new, she wouldn’t let them call her Betty—she proudly introduced herself as Grandma. She loved deeply—her family, her friends, and most importantly, her Savior, Jesus Christ. A devoted member of Calvary United Methodist Church, she lived her faith daily.
Whenever the opportunity arose, she joyfully shared the Word of God and the peace and glory that only He can provide.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Jacob Hunt; siblings Freda, Barbara, Jean, Donnie, Jimmy, and Boyce; her granddaughter, Christina Luther; her grandson, Derek Cole; and dear friends Pat Pipes and Pastor Ed Tapper.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Donna Robbins (Phil) and Betty Dorrity; her grandson, Don Cole (Cheri) and Chris Robbins (Mandie); her great-grandchildren Charles Conner, Logan Conner (Ashley), Amanda Cline (Justin), Jessica Deaton (Jacob) and Sam Robbins; and her great-great-grandchildren, John, Olivia, and Emily.
Her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know “Grandma.”
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th from 1:00–1:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S Main Street, Randleman. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Randolph Memorial Park.
