Betty Lou Jacobs, 91, of Bolivar, departed this life on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Christian Care Center in Bolivar.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late William Robert Cossar and Grace Ella Maddox. On October 31, 1947, she was united in marriage to Mr. Ray Curtis Jacobs. He passed away on March 6, 1992 following 44 years of marriage. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Jacobs on April 25, 2000; and a sister, Shirley Williams on January 23, 2019.
Mrs. Jacobs worked in food service for both Lucern and Pine Meadows and was a long-time member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church. In her leisure time, she enjoyed flowers, making others laugh, sitting on her front porch swing and quilting. She loved to cook, both for her family and to help others. She was often overheard telling those around her how much she loved them.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Lynus) Borden of Bolivar; her brother, Bo (Midge) Cossar of Bolivar; three grandsons, Chad (Kimberly) Borden, Clint (Angela) Borden and Daniel (Lacy) Jacobs; six great-grandchildren, Greyson, Delainey, Katelann Borden and Dani Lyn, Hazely and Noah Jacobs; and her daughter-in-law, Lynda Jacobs.
