Betty Jo "Jody" Jarrett, 73, of Vandalia, IL, passed away at 3:35 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Per Jody's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her family or to Hohlt & File Funeral Home to aide with expenses. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
Betty Jo Kenser was born on May 17, 1949 in Clinton, IL, the daughter of Mel B. Kenser and Dorothy E. (Crum) Roberts. She married Ray Leon Jarrett on May 20, 1966; he preceded in death. She later had a life partner, Robert Charles Taylor Sr.; he also preceded in death.
Jody was a lead dietary aide at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for 15 years as well as a bartender at both, the Patio and the Redwood. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, doing puzzles, and was very adamant about watching her shows on YouTube.
She is survived by her son, Shannon Jarrett of Ridgeway; daughters, Connie Pasley and Amanda "Mandy" Jarret & Chas Kistler, both of Vandalia; brothers, Michael Kenser Sr. and Donald W. Roberts Jr., both of Decatur; grandchildren, Cheylenne Haxton & fiancé Michael Edwards, Cheyenne Haxton, Tia Reynolds, Gauge Jarrett, Denver Jarrett, and Adam Pasley; and great-grandchildren, Raely, Kolbi, Veida, Milo, Maddox, Daigan, Blaize, Jacie, Marly, Lucca, and Roo.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; life partner, Robert; sister, Margaret Forker; and son-in-law, Paul Pasley.
