Betty Ford Jump

HIGH POINT – Betty Mearl Ford Jump, 86, died Saturday, November 22, 2025, at her residence.

She was born September 11, 1939, in Monterey, Tennessee, and was the daughter of the late Edward Gaither and Helen Robinson Ford. She retired from Flex-O-Lators where she had served as an office administrator for 37 years. She was a member of Jewel Baptist Church and demonstrated her faith with her deep passion to serve others and served as caregiver for many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd C. Jump whom she married on October 11, 1956; daughter-in-law, Sherry Jump; three sisters, Arlene Teague, Mary England and Ann Jump; and five brothers, Charles Ford, Radford Ford, Raymond Ford, Ronnie Ford (Dee), and Jimmy Rogers Ford.

Betty is survived by three sons, James Edward "Eddie" Jump (Janice) of New London, Steve R. Jump (Marsha) of Archdale, and Mike Jump of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Terry Albright (Melissa), Melody Crawford (Bob), Amber Jump (Jonathan Johnson), Ray Jump (Jay), Cynthia Lynn Jump, Kristen Nicole Jump (James Christmas), Josh Guy and Brandon Guy; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Juanita Roller of Sophia; a brother, Ricky Ford (Brenda) of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service celebrating Betty's life will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Jewel Baptist Church with Pastor Travis Yates officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
