Betty Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNett Funeral Home - Andrews on Mar. 30, 2026.
Betty Ellen Lee, born December 2, 1950, in Memphis, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, in Andrews, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will be held close by all who knew her.

Betty graduated from high school and continued her education at South Plains Commercial College, where she completed her secretarial course in 1969. She went on to work as a secretary for Jean Pearson for numerous years, where she was known for her dependability, kindness, and steady work ethic.

On February 20, 1971, Betty married CW Barley. Together they shared eleven years of marriage and were blessed with two children. Their years together were filled with laughter and family memories that remained meaningful throughout her life, after CW's passing in 1982.

Betty found love once again when she married Curtis Lee in June of 1983. Their marriage lasted eighteen years and was filled with countless joyful memories. Together they shared companionship and the comfort of a life-built side by side until Curtis's passing in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hester Marie Dean Shira and Leon Shira, her daughter Stacy Kelly, her first husband CW Barley, her second husband Curtis Lee, her siblings Kenneth Shira, Charles Shira, and Dorothy Rice, and her son-in-law Jim Kelly.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son Chuck Barley and wife Lacy of Gardendale, Texas; grandchildren Shaily Brant of Gardendale, Texas; Brandon Roe and wife Tabytha of Denton, Texas; Micheal Kelly and wife Melissa of Andrews, Texas; and Jessica Newton and husband Ryan of Bridgeport, Texas; and great-grandchildren Coraline Roe, McKenna Kelly, Cherokee Kelly, Shelbie Kelly, Nicola Luttrull, Amberley Luttrull, Michael Kelly, Kenzlee Newton, and Jericoe Newton. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members who will continue to honor her life and remember her with affection.

She also had many simple joys that brought her happiness. Betty loved Betty Boop, dancing, listening to country music, and enjoying a cold Coors Light. She adored her furry family members and always had a Pomeranian by her side while watching her soap operas, especially Days of Our Lives.

Her family and friends will remember Betty as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was filled with devotion, laughter, and enduring love. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave so freely will remain a lasting part of her family's story.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at two o'clock in the afternoon at Andrews North Cemetery with Pastor Leslie Boone officiating.
