Betty Martin Obituary
Betty Sue Long Martin, 91, of Gastonia passed away January 25, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Gaston County on November 5, 1931 to the late Clause and Gussie Long. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Martin Sr.; son, Ray Martin, Jr.; brother, Edgar Long; sisters, Brenda Martinez and Marylee Revels; niece, Janet Green; and nephew, Ronnie Taylor. She was a past memeber at Temple Baptist Church. She loved art and painting, her dogs, fishing, the beach, traveling, and going on cruises.
Survivors include her son, Roger Martin and fiance', Carolyn Griffin; daughter in law, Robyn Martin; grandchildren, Matt Martin and wife Courtney, Jennifer Pennington and husband Matt; and great grandchildren, Gabriel, Phillip, Heath, Hudson, and Harper.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, Mt. Holly with Pastor Matt Pennington officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow immediately at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alexander Memorial Baptist Church, PO Box 145, Belmont, NC 28012.
