Betty “Cheryl” McKinney, age 75 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the family home. Cheryl was a 1968 graduate of Young High School and was retired from AT&T after 43 years of service. She was an avid quilter and loved to read. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Aileen McDonald; husband, James Houston McKinney; brothers, Edwin and Dale McDonald; and sister, Maxine Russell; She is survived by her daughter, Lauren McKinney Gardner of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, James Cole and Debbie McKinney of Maryville; grandson, Liam Gardner; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Gordon Wade of Seymour; special friend, Lisa Thomason of Maryville; The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM in the Smith Trinity Chapel with a Celebration of Cheryl’s life to follow at 2:00 PM. The entombment will follow at the Grandview Mausoleum Chapel. Condolences may be shared through Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
