Betty L. Plaspohl

Betty L. Plaspohl, 90, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Rosewalk Village. Surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born March 24, 1934, in Fowler to the late Elmer and Jennie (Spaulding) Trueblood. She was a 1952 graduate of Fowler High School. On July 19, 1952, she married Carl F. Plaspohl at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler. He passed away October 5, 2022.
Betty worked in Food Services at the Lafayette School Corporation for 22 years and was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Lafayette since 1961, and was also involved with the Blessed Threads of St Mary's, and the Alter Rosary Society of St Mary's.
Betty enjoyed working puzzles, knitting, crocheting, traveling, and cherished time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by 8 children, Joe Plaspohl of Lafayette, Jeni (Andy) Craig of Attica, and Sue Smith of West Lafayette, Necie (Jim) Johnson of West Lafayette, Barb Ellis of Lafayette, Cathy (Rusty) Davis of Franklin, GA, Teesa (Tim) Hollis of Carmel, and Lori Plaspohl (Paul Capato) of Kingman; sister, Jayne (Leon) Fox of Gainesville, FL; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Plaspohl; her parents, Elmer and Jennie Trueblood; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, Monday, October 28, 2024, at St. Mary's Cathedral, 1212 Columbia St. Lafayette, IN 47901 with Father Matthew Jakupco officiating.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery,480 W. Division Rd., Fowler, IN 47944.
Memorial contributions in Betty's name may be given to St Mary's Cathedral, 1212 Columbia St., Lafayette, IN 47901.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all of the staff at Rosewalk Village, The Cottage on Union St., and Anew Hospice for the amazing care and kindness that Betty and the family received. We would especially like to thank her granddaughter, Alysha, who rendered excellent care and love to Grandma Betty.
