Claude Edward "Ed" Biggs

Claude Edward "Ed" Biggs, 82, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at his residence.

He was born February 7, 1944, in Terre Haute, IN, and graduated from Gerstmeyer Tech High School in Terre Haute.

On March 16, 1962, he married Dorothy Long in Terre Haute and she survives.

Ed was a delivery man for Colonial Bread for several years and also worked for Purdue University at Carey Quad before retiring.

Ed enjoyed camping and was active with the Boy Scouts when his sons were involved helping them achieve their Eagle Scout rank.

Surviving with his wife, Dorothy Sue Biggs of Lafayette, are children, Eddie (Stacey) Biggs of Crawfordsville, Christina McCurdy of Lafayette, Connie Biggs of Lafayette, Eric (Joy) Biggs of Lafayette and Charity (Tom) Thelen of Holland, MI. a sister, Lenora (Steve) Keller of Terre Haute, a brother, Ron Biggs of Louisiana and a half brother, Donald Biggs. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Jennifer (Shane), Chelsea, Wyatt, Noah, Cale, Dylan, Grant, Bradley (Caitlin), Marigrace, Savanah, Austin and Andrew.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche (Cruise) Biggs and Edward Eugene Biggs, a brother, Bill Biggs and a granddaughter, Ashley.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, with Rev. Joseph Park Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow View Cemetery in Lafayette.
