Mrs. Pybas passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Holdenville. She was born November 21, 1936, in Oklahoma City to George H. and Mary Ethel Flowers Powell.

On March 29, 1958, she married Robert Pybas. He preceded her in death in 2017. Mrs. Pybas was a cook at East Central University until her retirement.

Survivors include her two sons, Steve Pybas and wife, Kim, of Ringling, OK and Kevin Pybas and wife, Courtney, of Springfield, MO; two daughters, Janis Kiser, of Sulphur, OK and Lisa Peay and husband, Doug, of Allen, OK; grandchildren, Tyler Pybas and wife, Jessica, of Lone Grove, OK, Taylor Pybas and wife, Micah, of Noble, OK, Brit Pybas, of Kansas City, Lane Pybas, of Springfield, Ty Kiser and wife, Kamee, of Sulphur, OK, Trey Kiser, of Mississippi, Jensen Peay, of Allen, OK, Emma Peay, of Allen, OK, Aaron Pybas and wife, Darla, of Stratford, OK, Ryan Pybas, of Fayetteville, AR, T.J. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, George and Mary Powell; brother, Jack Powell; son, Phil Pybas; son-in-law, Tooter Kiser; and numerous Pybas brothers-in law, and sisters-in-law.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Heritage Village Nursing Home staff and Halo Hospice nurses for the compassionate care they provided in her final days and for helping guide her gently home to heaven.

Our beloved mother lived a life of love, service, and quiet strength. She dearly loved her five children, cherished her grandchildren, and cared deeply for her friends. Known for her generous heart and cooking, no one ever left her home hungry, and her food-especially her macaroni and tomatoes, banana pudding and cream pies-was a favorite at family gatherings.

She found joy in her yard, watching birds, and caring for her beloved pets. Even through many health challenges, she never complained and continued to show concern for others. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be treasured forever.

We love you, Mom.

When my brother and I were small children, Sue and her family were always very kind to us. Sue liked to make me giggle, and I can still hear Uncle George say, "You girls stop that tittering and go to sleep." Then, we'd giggle some more! Sue's parents loved her dearly, as she did them. She always rushed to help her parents, with a great big smile on her face. Thank you Sue, for the beautiful memories. May you rest in Eternal Peace. Betty Kelly Hutto
