Betty Schildmeier, a beloved mother, friend, and proud Anderson native, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on April 1, 1938, in Anderson to Donald & Ina (Swafford) Earhart. Betty was a lifelong member of her community, known for her warmth and kindness.Throughout her life, Betty dedicated herself to her work in food service, making a positive impact in local schools. Betty was a proud member of the Red Hats Society, where she enjoyed the company of her friends, laughter, and fun gatherings. When she wasn't attending bingo nights or indulging in a good book, Betty treasured the moments spent with her family-especially her children, Anthony, Michael, Fawn, and Jeri-and her beloved grandchildren.
Betty found her spiritual home at Maple Grove Baptist Church. Her mornings were often filled with quiet devotion, as she read her Bible, finding comfort and guidance in her faith. Betty is survived by her sons, Anthony (Rita) and Michael Schildmeier; her daughters, Fawn Kelly and Jeri Jo (Todd) Seabold; grandchildren, A.J. Schildmeier, Tyfney Bennett, Brittany Ecker, Ashley Davis, Liz Kelly, Nicole Lyon, Amanda Rink & Keri Seabold; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce LaPierre, Charles (Sonny) Earhart, Kay Gaw & Marilyn Phillips; a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Betty was preceded in death by: husand, Jerry Schildmeier; parents; granddaughter, Lynsey Schildmeier; grandson, Jonathan Bagley; and son-in-law, Terry Kelly.A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd Street Anderson with Pastor Hervey Lawrence officiating. Family and friends may visit from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday. Inichement of cremated remains will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.Rest in peace, Betty. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
