Stanley George Buffum, 79, of Anderson, IN, passed away on November 7, 2025, at home. He was born on March 6, 1946, in Keene, New Hampshire, to his parents, Lyle and Dorothy Buffum. He grew up in Surry with his parents and brother (David Buffum (wife Phyllis) from Phippsburg, ME) enjoying exploring the woods, fishing, and being a boy scout.

Stan graduated from Monadnock Regional High School in 1964, while in school he played football, and lettered in track and field.

He married Ellen (Carignan) Croke, of Keene, in 1967 and after spending a year at New Hampshire Tech in Manchester, moved to Fitzwilliam. They have two daughters, Lisa (husband Shawn) Barcome, of Keene and Emily Buffum, of Norwood, MA. He began working for Kingsbury Tool. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and renovating the house. He was a member of the Keene Elks.

In 1975 Stan married Michele (Carrier), of Keene. They have a son, George Buffum, of St. Joseph, MI. They moved to Stoddard where Stan enjoyed having a small farm, taking care of the animals, snowmobiling, and walking his property. Work eventually brought him to leave NH. While living in New Jersey and Kentucky he enjoyed coaching and officiating pee wee/high school football.

After retiring from Harper-Wyman Corp as an engineer in 2007, Stan moved to Indiana to spend more time with George, Heather (Poshard – ex-wife of George), and granddaughter Sydney Buffum, of Arcadia, IN. He enjoyed gardening, his dog, home projects, spending time in the garage, and visiting family back east.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He shared many stories, experiences, and laughs with grandson Carson (Mr. C) (fiancé Henessy Guerrero) Barcome, of Washington, DC and granddaughter Cassidy Barcome, of Durham, NH. Spending time at the ocean, eating seafood, and playing cribbage and UNO were activities enjoyed during all visits to New England.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Michele Buffum and his parents.

In addition to being survived by his three children and three grandchildren, he is also survived by his brother (David), ex-wife Judy Meyers of Minnesota, ex-wife Ellen, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
