Betty Ann Schuermann age 78 of North Platte passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 surrounded by her family
Betty Schuermann was born to Dorothy and Forrest Bumgarner on 12/13/1946 in Ypsilanti MI. She lived most of her adult life in Illinois where she attended high school in St. Charles IL, after graduating she attended beauty school and became a licensed cosmetologist a career she enjoyed for many years, before going to work at Western Electric as an Administrative Assistant. She loved her work and stayed with the company through many mergers, and divestitures until retiring from Nokia. It was while working here that she met and married the love of her life Ronald Schuermann. Betty was an avid crafter spending her free time with her embroidery machine, creating canvas animals and decor to keep herself busy. She loved to read, and enjoyed watching Elvis movies and westerns. Her biggest joy in life came from her family and was always loved to share stories about her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. No matter near or far she enjoyed seeing them growup and start families of their own.
Betty is survived by her daughter Kelly (Erik) Sheets, her grandchildren, Ariel Simkins, Austin Simkins, Makayla Denbo, and Jordan Denbo. As well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents Forresst and Dorothy Bumgarner, her husband Ronald Schuermann, sisters Thelma (Terrence) Green, Clara Hayes, and her brother Robert Bumgarner.
Inurnment will take place in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva, Illinois at a later date.
