Betty Lee Wight Schumacher, 87, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on November 13, 2024, in Farmington, New Mexico. Betty was born on February 6, 1937, in Garfield, Arkansas to parents Jerolene Chism/Wight and Albert Wight.
Betty attended Garfield Elementary School and graduated from Rogers High School. Betty worked for Sam Walton (Walmart), at Walton’s Five and Dime as a bookkeeper in Bentonville, Arkansas. She also worked for Tyson Foods as a bookkeeper in Rogers, Arkansas. Betty started and operated several businesses with her husband Jim Schumacher, Repeater Communications, Echo Electric Co., and Four Corners Construction. She raised five sons and a husband.
Betty loved to travel, go camping, find antiques, but most of all spend time with her family and friends. She was an avid member of the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church, in Little Flock, Arkansas.
Betty is preceded by her son Daniel Schumacher, parents Jerolene Chism/Wight, and Albert Jasper Wight, sisters Kathrine Powell, and Peggy Tillman, and grandparents Cora Lee Browers/Chism, James Hartwell Chism, Dolly Mitchell/Wight, and William Simeon Wight.
Betty is survived by her husband Jimmy Lawrence Schumacher, sons Gregory Lee Schumacher, Frank Harmon Schumacher, Ronald Keith Schumacher, and Mark Allen Schumacher, sister Doris Dell Wight/Hanner, and grandchildren James Schumacher, Candice Schumacher, Jason Schumacher, Brandon Poor, Camron Schmitt, Luke Schumacher, Wyatt Schumacher, Sydney Rain Schumacher, Steel Schumacher, Alex Schumacher, and Nathan Schumacher.
