Betty Jean Stobaugh, 94 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 5:30 on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Walnut Gardens Community of Christ. Private inurnment will be held in Mound Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to Outreach International, 112 W. 18th St., Kansas City, Mo 64108 or Community of Christ International Headquarters, 1001 W. Walnut, Independence, Mo 64050. Betty was born September 10, 1930 in Eads, CO to Arthur Gilbert and Lenna M. (Cook) Smart. She had worked for several years for the World Church of the Community of Christ as an executive secretary until she retired in 1978. She was a member of the Community of Christ, Walnut Gardens congregation. She is survived by; 2 children, Lana Lane McCarty and husband Brad of Belleville, IL and a son, Larry Lane and wife Jacque of Kansas City, MO; 3 stepchildren, Laura Crozier and husband Marvin and Pamela King and husband Paul all of Grain Valley, MO and James Stobaugh and wife Tammy of Woodland Park, CO; 4 grandchildren, Katrina Gilbert, Kara Johnson and husband Jeff, Stephanie Lane and Melissa Lane and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Lane in 1972 and her second husband Kenneth Stobaugh in 2020, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
