MRS. BETTY JEAN JONES WEATHERSBEE, age 82, of Chester, GA, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Dodge County Hospital in Eastman, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, April 27, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Sterling Averett officiating, with interment in Pleasant Olive Cemetery in Chester.
Mrs. Weathersbee was born in Eastman, GA on January 7, 1943. She was a member of Chester Baptist Church, a 1960 graduate of Dodge County High School, and worked as a seamstress for C & J Manufacturing for over nine years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening. She was affectionately known as Nanny to her grandchildren and family. Betty Jean was the daughter of the late Christeen Allen Jones and Colen Oliver Jones and was preceded in death by her Husband, Woodrow Wilson Weathersbee, Jr., Sisters, Melteen Jones Cook and Geraldine Jones Sheffield, Brother, G.C. Jones, Grandson, Cody Roper Weathersbee, Sister-In-Law, Carolyn Sawyer, and Brother-In-Law, George Weathersbee.
She is survived by her Sons – James Weathersbee (Debbie), Thomas Weathersbee (Michelle), both of Chester, GA and Ed Weathersbee (Chelsea) of Eastman, GA; Grandchildren – Kelly Weathersbee (Christian White), Michael Weathersbee, Raina Weathersbee, and Ellie Weathersbee; Great Grandson – Montgomery White; Sister – Linda Roberson of Rhine, GA; Brothers – Ernest Jones of Plainfield, GA and Bobby Jones of Rentz, GA; Sister-In-Law – Marcia Weathersbee; Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Ed Weathersbee, 199 Tangerine Rd., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM on Sunday, April 27 before the service.
