Betty Jane Welsh, age 87 of Canton, Ohio, formerly of Louisville, went to meet our Lord at the gates of The Heavenly Kingdom on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Betty was born January 20, 1938, in Rochester, Pennsylvania to the late Paul Adam and Hazel Kenny (Ripley) Welsh. She is survived by brothers Raymond Leroy Welsh (Louisville), Robert Coleman Welsh (Canton), one sister, Thressa Irene (Welsh) Haidet (Beloit), also brother Paul Herold Welsh, (Louisville), deceased, as well as many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins. Two people she cherished are Mary Milzheimer and Nora Penrod. Betty's true and everlasting loves were her cats, "Sweet Pea" (deceased) and Hazel.
Betty loved traveling and lived in many different places including Las Vegas, Nevada; Florida and Los Angeles, California where she worked for Sears and Roebuck, Inc. and rose to the position of District Supervisor before retiring and returning to the Stark County area. She made many friends over her years and later attended Adult Day Care at St. Joe's and Sera Care where she enjoyed crafting, coloring, singing and playing games. She attended the New Covenant Church in Canton, Pastor Ron Mayle and her church brothers and sisters were a very important part of Betty's life. Talking about finding Jesus, her family, and receiving photographs made her very happy.
Keeping with Betty's wishes, she has been cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at her grave site in Union Cemetery, Louisville. There are no formal calling hours but friends are welcome to join the family at 11:00 am. Pastor Ron will officiate and lead prayers. Betty's family would like to thank Paquelet--Falk Funeral Home in Louisville for their kindness and understanding during this time of our loss of our dear sister.
