Mario Markovic

Mario Markovic, 87, of Louisville, OH, was surrounded by family when he passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Mario was born in Gospic, Croatia on January 6, 1938. As a young man, he escaped communist Yugoslavia and resettled in Australia. He met his wife Maria there and they had 3 children. Ultimately they moved to the US.
Mario was known as "Papa" to all. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, making wine, and spending time with his dog Mamba. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union for many years. After retiring, he enjoyed working on home projects for his children. His greatest accomplishment as a carpenter was building the house that he and his wife resided in for nearly 50 years.
Mario is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maria, daughter Suzanne Valentine (Dan), sons Paul Markovic, and John Markovic (Stephanie). He was a proud grandfather to granddaughter Stephanie Heim (Mike), and grandsons Dylan, (Anita), Andrew Miller (Lauren), and Sean (Victoria), and one great-grandson, Andor Mario Markovic.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home, 303 South Chapel Street, Louisville, OH, from 10:30am-12:30pm. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories of him.
