Mrs. Betty Mae Whitworth, 93, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

Betty was born April 26, 1932, in Toccoa, Georgia, the daughter of the late Robert Jefferson Mulkey and the late Clifford Elizabeth Watson Mulkey. She served in the United States Army during the Korean War Era. Betty was part of the Special Training Regiment as a Clerk Typist. She was a Bank teller for over 30 years with Sun Trust and Truist Banks. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, Scrabble and working on Jigsaw puzzles. She liked to listen to and watch the Atlanta Braves. Betty was a devoted church member of Gateway Baptist Church and loved attending church services.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Whitworth and six siblings.

Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and Ronda Whitworth of Dallas, GA, Thomas and Julie Whitworth of Powder Springs, GA, Sherri and Ronald Tapp of Temple, GA, siblings, Francis Keller of Lithonia, GA, Lois Sheriff of Toccoa, GA, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

A Private Inurnment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in her memory to Gateway Baptist Church 9710 Highpoint Road, Villa Rica 30180.
