Betty Lou Will, 85, of Bowling Green, formerly of Louisiana, died February 13, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Betty was born in
Louisiana, MO on June 5, 1940. She was the daughter of Clarence J. Woodward and Melva M. (Moore) Woodward.
She attended high school in Louisiana, and after graduation, was united in marriage to George W. Suddarth, and to this union, there were four children. George W. Suddarth Jr., Cynthia Lou (Suddarth) Greenwood, Melvia Gail Suddarth, and Justine Michelle Suddarth.
Betty and George were married for 19 years, and although this marriage was dissolved, they remained friends.
Betty attended Eolia Vocational Technical School where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She viewed this as one of her most cherished accomplishments and embarked on a nursing career which spanned more than 30 years. Betty worked at Maple Grove Lodge, Levering Hospital and later did private duty nursing. After moving to Troy MO, Betty worked at Community Opportunities for several years and later retired.
After retiring, Betty moved back to the Pike County area, living first in Louisiana, and then in Bowling Green, next to her daughter.
Betty was baptized and went to Dover Baptist Church as a child. As an adult, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisiana, as well as Noix Creek Baptist church. However, in later years, Betty no longer attended religious services.
Betty was a wonderful mother to her children. She enjoyed sewing and made clothing for her family, as well as other people. She was great cook and took joy in gardening and canning. She had a loving heart and a kind and generous nature.
She is survived by her children, Bill Suddarth and his wife Donna, of
Louisiana, MO. Cyndi Greenwood, of Salisbury, North Carolina, Gail Suddarth and partner, Santos, of
Bowling Green, MO., and Justine Suddarth and partner, Rick, Of Louden, Tennessee. Also surviving, her sister, Phyllis K. Penrod and husband Ralph, as well as her grandchildren, Gabe Suddarth, Kyle Suddarth, Jessica Randolph, Christopher Suddarth, Marissa Hill, Cameron Suddarth, Adrian Suddarth and Sydney Ensley, great-grandchildren, Madison, Karma, Gunnar, Bella, Brenden, Will, Landon, Princeton, Dominic, Jenna, Kayla, Baden, Bella, Logan, Karsyn and Emery. Great-great-grandchildren, D.J., Elijah, Amaya, Izrela, Aviana, Amari, and Giovanni.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Melva, her sister, Cleo May and her son-in-law, Steven L. Greenwood.
Collier Funeral Home is in charge of cremation rites. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
