James Patrick Will, 47, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 23, 2026. James was born in Joliet, IL on September 28, 1978, the beloved son of James Michael and Mary Paulette (nee White) Will.
James was a graduate of Joliet West High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Northeastern Illinois University. He built a respected career in sales, working as a salesman for Sheffield Supply and Safety and previously serving as a regional salesman with Budweiser.
James was known for his loving, generous, and selfless nature. He had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone with anything. He cherished time with his family and held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, whose lives he brightened with his steady support and affection.
Outside of work and family, James found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and a devoted Notre Dame supporter, following his teams with enthusiasm and loyalty. He also loved spending time outdoors, especially when he could be out fishing, enjoying the peace and quiet of nature.
James's kindness, reliability, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of generosity and selflessness will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
James is survived by his parents, James and Paulette Will; siblings, John Daniel (Brandi) Will, Brian Paul Will, and Erin Colleen Will; and his nieces and nephews, Brady Will, Melene Will, Charlotte Will, and Nathaniel Will. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
He is preceded by his grandparents, John and Monica Will and John and Dolores White.
A Memorial Gathering for James Patrick Will will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor, Joliet, IL, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Mass, at 11:30 a.m. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Sightsavers.
