WILLIAMS - Betty "Sue" Williams, age 90 of Dacula, GA passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Hog Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, Dacula, GA with Burch Lowery officiating. Sue was born, January 5, 1936, in Dacula, GA to Robert and Lillian (Bailey) Tanner and was one of six children. Sue was a woman of remarkable intellect and grace, she set a standard of excellence early in life, graduating as the Valedictorian of Dacula High School. Her professional journey was defined by "firsts" and a tireless commitment to justice and her community. She broke barriers as the first female to serve on the Gwinnett County Merit Board and achieved a historic milestone as the first female Judge in Gwinnett County. Following a distinguished career, she retired from the Gwinnett County Probate Court, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and public service. Her professional peers recognized her leadership by naming her the ABWA Buford Chapter Woman of the Year. Her faith and love for her community were evident in her service to the church, where she shared her heart by teaching Sunday School and directing the Children's Choir. While her professional accolades were many, her greatest joy was found in her family. Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Williams; son, Carl Derek Williams; parents, Robert and Lillian (Bailey) Tanner; brothers, Bob, Benny, and Branson Tanner; and sisters, Billie Chadwick and Brenda Lowery. She is survived by her daughters, Regina Swancey (Tommy Shelton) and Angela (Kim) Wages; her grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Stratemeyer, Daniel (Maria) Swancey, and Clay (Bailey) Wages; and her precious great-grandchildren, Camden Stratemeyer , Kaitlyn Stratemeyer, Paola Swancey, Alexa Swancey, Jacob Swancey, Peyton Wages, and MyKenna Wages.
