Billy George Sharpton

SHARPTON – Billy George Sharpton, age 77 of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, with Pastor Rick Hermann officiating. A Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Billy was a 1967 graduate of Dacula High School and a United States Army Veteran. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2003. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church in White Plains Georgia. He served as a Deacon at several churches over the years. Billy distributed Bibles for the Gideons. When he was not cheering for the Georgia Bulldawgs, he could be found spending time outdoors fishing or working in the garden. Billy was preceded in death by his father, John Sharpton; mother, Bonnie Pharr, 3 brothers; and 3 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marilyn (Roberts) Sharpton; sons, Gene (Tyra) Sharpton and Stan (Traci) Sharpton; grandchildren, Brandon Sharpton, Dillon Sharpton, Emma Sharpton, Haley Sharpton, Henry Sharpton, and Kalaan White; and 6 great grandchildren.
