Bettye Lorene Hensley Brisentine, age 90, of Prospect, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and
great grandmother, passed away at home on February 1, 2025.
Bettye was born July 21, 1934 in Pendleton, Kentucky and was the oldest of three children to
the late Silas and Elizabeth Garrett Hensley. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patty
Kelley-McCombs, and her loving husband of 69 years, C. Kenneth Brisentine. Bettye is survived
by her daughter, Sheri B. Hicks; two grandsons, Rob Hicks (Alison), Brandon Hicks (Samantha);
great granddaughters, Kensington and Avonlea Hicks; and great grandsons, Harrison and
Henry Hicks; her sister, Connie Phillipe (Bill, deceased); three nieces, and many dear friends.
Bettye was a devoted member of Prospect United Methodist Church where she served on the
Administrative Board and as a Sunday School teacher. Bettye worked for many years as a
medical assistant to Dr. Ray Moore, Jr. She was a member of the Prospect Historical Society
and appointed an Honorary Kentucky Colonel.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all her caregivers, especially Phyllis
Marshall. Phyllis devoted the past six years providing exemplary care for Bettye.
**UPDATE DUE TO WEATHER** A funeral to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the
Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm and the service at 3:00 pm. Graveside services
will also be at Puckett Funeral Home. To honor Bettye, memorial contributions may be made
to Prospect United Methodist Church.
