SILVER CREEK: Beula M. Einhouse, 107, of Dennison Road, Silver Creek, died Thursday, May 23rd, 2024. She was born in Stockton, NY on May 7, 1917, the daughter of the late William and Clara (Curtis) Kanistanaux.
Beula was a graduate of Brocton High School and received her Teaching Certificate from the former Fredonia Normal School. Early on in her career, she spent 6 years teaching in Alaska, which was before it became a state. Beula taught in several other schools prior to teaching 2nd grade at Silver Creek Central School for the final 20 years of her 36 year teaching career. She was a former member of the Home Bureau of Sheridan and the Silver Creek Senior Citizens. Beula loved to read, feed & watch birds and enjoyed keeping up with current events.
Beula is survived by two sons Donald (Mary Beth) Einhouse, of Silver Creek; and Edward Einhouse, of Canandaigua, NY. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Donald Einhouse, Jr., Benjamin Einhouse, Allison Minnis & Sarah Tarnowski, four great grandchildren; Brayden, Jackson & Addie Mae Tarnowski, Dawson Minnis, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Eugene Einhouse, whom she married in Sheridan in 1954, a daughter-in-law Patricia Einhouse, two sisters; Shirley Fendinger & Ruth Belding and a brother Donald Kanistanaux.
Private Graveside Services were held in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorials may be made either to the Audubon Community Nature Center 1600 Riverside Road Jamestown, NY 14701 or to Roger Tory Peterson Institute, 311 Curtis Street Exd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
