Beulah M. Glascock (nee Basham)
Age 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL. Born June 5, 1930, in Harrisburg, IL to the late Joseph Sr. and Faye Basham, she was a graduate of Harrisburg High School class of 1948. On September 25, 1948, she married Vernon Ray Glascock of Raleigh, IL. The couple lived in Harrisburg until 1955 when they moved to Elwood, IL. She worked at the Sears department store on N. Chicago St. in Joliet as a retail clerk, then at the U.S. Ammunition Procurement and Supply Agency (APSA) in Elwood, and finally at J. Merle Jones International Truck dealer in Joliet, retiring in 1995. She was active in the Elwood Community Church serving on the session for many years, chairing the pulpit committee in the search for new pastors and supervising many fund-raising activities. She volunteered for many years at Shepherd's Table charity kitchen in Joliet and worked as a volunteer receptionist at Provena St. Joseph Hospital. Beulah was a consummate cook, baker and homemaker being well known among attendees of church dinners for her pies and cakes. She took pride and delight in being a grandmother and later a great and great-great grandmother. She was a loving and caring sister to her brothers in the Harrisburg area in their final years. She is survived by her daughter Judith (Garry) Morey, her son Joseph (Shirley) Glascock; five grandchildren, Monica (Michael) Bohnert, Thomas Morey, Derek (Sonja) Glascock, Christine (Timothy) Baudino and Elizabeth (Douglas) McCullough; 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband Vernon R. Glascock, her parents Joseph Sr. and Faye Basham, twin brothers Alfred and Alvin Basham, and brother Joseph (Susan) Basham Jr. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Elwood Community Church, 101 S.
