Beulah Theresa James Powell, 84, Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Moses Cone Hospital on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Yeaman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter Lisa.
Beulah was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Irwin James and Agnes Santos James. She was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Danville, VA, where she was a part of the Women On A Mission ministry. She loved Butterflies, Bingo and Country music, especially Conway Twitty. Most of all she loved her family.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Nicky (June), Eddie(Pat), Bobby(Lois), and Harvey James (Nancy); grandson, Anthony Mangum.
Beulah is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jimmy Powell; children, Lisa Perkins (Nelson), Theresa Windsor (Benny), Robby Powell (Shannon), India Collins (Shawn) and Timmy Powell; grandchildren, Angel Carter (Jonathan), Colby Perkins, Brianna Mobley, April Windsor, Christina Collins, Adam Collins, Bradley Parker (Kacey), Brooklyn Parker; great grandchildren, Cayden Carter, Laylah Lanier, Karlee Parker, Addie Dejournette, and Jakobe Hilderbrand; her brother, Joe James(Linda) and a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Scholarship Fund at 4401 Westover Drive, Danville, VA 24541.
