Beverley Jo Paulus, 77, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on August 18, 1947, in Cabin Creek, West Virginia, Beverley was a beloved figure known for her compassionate nature and unwavering dedication to her family and profession.
A graduate of Nederland High School in 1966, Beverley furthered her education at Lamar University, earning a nursing degree that would shape her remarkable career. She devoted many years to the healthcare field, starting her journey with Texas Home Health, St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur and ultimately retiring from Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, after many years of service as a registered obstetric nurse. Throughout her career, Beverley dedicated herself to bringing new life into the world, a testament to her love and adoration for babies.
Beverley was not only a strong and independent woman; she was also a beautiful person, both inside and out. Her kindness and loving demeanor could light up any room, and her infectious laughter brought joy to those around her. Her memory will undoubtedly continue to warm the hearts of her loved ones.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Beverley cherished the moments spent with family and friends. She loved the vibrant life in Las Vegas, frequently enjoying visits to the casinos and spending pleasant times at the lake house with her husband. These experiences brought her immense joy and were a notable part of her life.
Beverley is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Ceyril Paulus of Nederland, Texas; her sons, Jay Kolb and his wife, Michelle of Nederland, Texas; Chris Kolb and his wife, Joy of Fairmount, Texas; and her grandchildren, Josh Kolb and his wife, Sabrina; Kelsi Kolb; Kody Kolb and his wife, Jaci; Cameron Kolb; and Krystal Kolb. Beverley is also survived by her husband's children, Beth Nuss and her husband, Tim and their children, Ethan and Stephanie of Fayette, Iowa; and Darren Paulus and his wife, Ellen and their children, Rebecca, Carter and Kayla of Sumner, Iowa. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren who she adored; one expected great-grandchild; and her brother, Sammy Smith.
Beverley was preceded in death by her parents, Bettie (Hall) Dwyer and Robert “Trixie” Hall, and her brother-in-law, Wayne Paulus. As we remember Beverley Jo Paulus, we honor a life dedicated to compassion, love, and the joy of family. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her.

A gathering of Beverley's family and friends will be held at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m. with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service to begin at 6:00p.m. with Pastor Kaleb Rule, Officiant.
