MOULTONBOROUGH---Beverley Eleanor Person,96, died peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at her home in Moultonboro, NH.
Beverly was born on September 22, 1928, Lowell, MA, daughter of Hazel and Frederick Coburn. She grew up in Chelmsford and moved with her family to Plymouth, NH in 1945, where she graduated from Plymouth High School in 1946.
After high school, Beverley worked as a bookkeeper at Pemigewasset National Bank in Plymouth and married her husband, Roger Edward Person, in 1949. Beverley and Roger moved to Moultonboro in 1957. They owned and operated Ledgewood Farm raising chickens, vegetables, flowers and produced maple syrup until 2003 with their son, Edward.
Beverley was active in the Moultonboro Grange with Roger and earned a 25 year membership award. She was a former member of 4-H leadership and Melvin Village Hikers.
After the death of Roger in 2004, Beverley became involved with the Moultonboro-Sandwich Senior Meals program. She volunteered her time helping in the kitchen, dining room, and as an assistant to the director in the office. She served on the Site Advisory Council and was chosen as the 2006 Vaughn Award recipient for Carroll County for her outstanding leadership and volunteer service.
Beverley enjoyed golf, knitting many, many hats and mittens that were donated, numerous other crafts, and, in recent years, doing jigsaw puzzles with her caregivers and anyone who stopped in to visit.
Surviving close family members are her son, Edward Person and fiancé Deborah Engelhardt of Moultonboro; daughter, Ellen St. James Knight and husband Robert Knight of Moultonboro; two grandsons, Jeremy St. James and fiancée Lauren Tidd of Moultonboro, and Justin St. James and wife Elizabeth of Essex, VT; great-granddaughter, Eleanor St. James of Essex, VT; nephews, Dwight (Eileen) of Martin, GA and George (Sharon) of Ft. Meyers, FL. In addition to her parents and her husband, Beverley was predeceased by her son, Eric.
The family wants to extend heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful caregivers who helped her remain in her home, as well as the caring assistance of Lakes Region Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice. Finally, her thoughtful neighbors on Vappi Vale for the past 13 years, especially Jan who visited often, went for rides to get lunch and ice cream, and was a wonderful friend.
A remembrance gathering for Beverley will be held from 2 to 4 PM, Sunday, May 18, 2025, at her home, 10 Vappi Vale, Moultonboro, NH.
