Beverly Ann Jackson-Brown "BB" life's reflections
Beverly Ann Jackson (BB), born on August 26, 1942, in
Galveston, Texas, passed away on September 8, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Perry G. and Marguerite A. Jackson, and a devoted sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Beverly Jackson graduated from Central High School in 1960 and later earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from Texas Southern University. A passionate and dedicated educator, Beverly spent many years shaping the minds and lives of her students. It was during her years as an educator that she met the love of her life, Floyd Lee Brown. On August 17, 1985, she married Floyd, and together, they built a life full of love, faith, and service to others.
Beverly's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and her service to her home church was a testament to her devotion. She served as the Choir Director, Finance Secretary, Head of the Breakfast Ministry, and was the church's talented piano player. Her love for music and her commitment to the church were only matched by her deep care for the community around her.
Beverly was also a proud member of several organizations, including The Calanthe Historical Society: Damon Pride #9, The Daughters of ISIS, The Order of the Eastern Star, El Katif #115, Heroines The Black Heritage Galveston Community Choir, Central High School Alumni Association, Texas Retired Teacher Association, Galveston Corral, United Women in Faith (UMW). Beverly was also a Westley Tabernacle Church organist, men's choir director, and board of trustee member. She believed in serving others and was a shining example of dedication, strength, and kindness.
Beverly's legacy will live on through her family, friends, and all who were touched by her compassion and grace. She is survived by her sister, Gloria McKinney; Step-Grandson, Ricky Brown Jr; Goddaughter, Janae Phelps Dark; God-Neice Tina Suell(Husband Elroy Suell (Elwood)); Nephew Jordan Jackson(Fiancé Michelle); Great Nephews, Micheal Broussard(Wife Otessa)and Dorian Jackson; Great-Great Nephew Jaden Broussard; Nieces, Dorellyn Jackson and Leslie Mallard; Great-Nieces, Olivia Mallard and Victoria Mallard, Great-Great Nieces A'Miya Broussard; and a host of extended family members and friends.
A life well-lived, Beverly's spirit will forever be in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her incredible generosity, and her joyful spirit that lit up every room she entered.
