Beverly Ann Christensen

Beverly Ann Christensen, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 3, 2026. She was born on January 25, 1946 in Rahway, NJ to the late Herbert and Violet (Drummond) Christensen. As a child, she put her trust in the Lord Jesus as her Savior and became identified with those gathered to the Lord's name.

Family and friends valued her steady, quiet walk with the Lord, her love for her family and friends, her work ethic and her generousity. She was an expert seamstress and knitter and often gifted afghans and slippers to others. She had many indoor plants and a large garden. She enjoyed bird watching and travel with her family and was known for her delicious shortbread cookies.

Beverly worked at Prudential in Newark until she started working as a bookkeeper for her family's store, Christensen's Department Store on Main Street in Woodbridge, until its closing in 1998. She lived her entire life in a brick colonial home in Woodbridge which was built by her mother's brothers, who were bricklayers.

Beverly was predeceased by her oldest brother, Gerald "Jerry" Christensen. She is survived by her brother, Bruce with his wife Linda and her sister-in-law, Lyla. Also surviving are her nephews, Ken (Tina) and Stephen (Sonia); nieces, Tara (Daniel), Kirsten (Jose), Heather, Tekla (Emmett) and Karen (Nate) along with many great and great - great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 10am to 12pm at GERITY & CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge with a service beginning at 11am. Interment will follow at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Woodbridge.
