Beverly Liner Collins

Beverly Liner Collins, 77, of Schaumburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at

Ascension Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Beverly was born in Chicago, Illinois to William C. and Elizabeth (Balog) Liner on June 16, 1948.

Beverly grew up in Park Ridge, IL and graduated from Maine South High School.

Bev was employed by Centel/Sprint Telephone Company where she started as a long distance

switchboard operator and various other jobs within the company until her retirement early in

life.

Beverly truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: going out to breakfast, lunch and

dinners with friends and family, traveling on many cruises, bowling many years with family on

various leagues, spending time with the family, her nieces and nephews, one special close

cousin Charlotte Turnbull and all her cousins and their families.

When Covid shut everything down in 2020 she was quick to set up a weekly zoom

meet with family members where they played Scattergories and chit chatted. This weekly event

took place every Tuesday night up until June 2025 when her health started failing.

Bev was also known for her quick wit and to make others smile or laugh. She truly loved the

holidays and her home was always decorated to show that particular holiday. Beverly found

her greatest happiness in the company of her family and friends who filled her life with joy.

Beverly is survived by her sisters, Lenora/Lynn Hammond, Christine (John)

O'Connor, brothers William C Liner and Pat (Janet) Liner, sister-in-law Kimberley Liner,

brother-in-law James F Kelly, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and

nephews and many friends.

Beverly was married later in life (2003) to James R. Collins for four short years before Jim passed

away. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband James R. Collins 2007, her parents

William C and Elizabeth (Balog) Liner, her brother Robert E Liner (1994), sister-in-law Judith M

Liner Kelly (2023), brother-in-law Dennis R. Hammond (2016) and nephew Keith D. Hammond

(2009).

The family would like to express their appreciation to Ascension Alexian Brothers Hospice

Residence in Elk Grove Village, IL for their kind and outstanding care of Beverly during her short

stay there.

The best way to honor Beverly's spirit is to hug those you love (often) and smile at the people you don't know (yet). The world needs a little more love.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 11.00am to 1.00pm at Ahlgrim

and Sons Funeral Home, 330 West Golf Road, Schaumburg, IL 60195. Interment will be private at a later date.

The family was assisted by the Cremation Society of Illinois and Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral & Cremation Services.

Beverly has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society

for cancer research, or your local food pantry or to your favorite charity.
