Beverly Edwards Coltharp, 91, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Beverly was born on February 5, 1934, in Fairfield, Idaho. Her family moved from Idaho to Nevada shortly thereafter, where she met and married Warren A. Coltharp at age 19. For several years, the couple followed Warren’s work by moving from place to place in Texas and Louisiana before settling down and raising a family in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Beverly was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Bossier City, where she participated in numerous activities, including serving on the Church vestry, participating in the Women of the Church, and attending regular Bible studies. Beverly also volunteered as a Girl Scout leader. Following many years of being a devoted parent, Beverly worked as a secretary at the LSU Medical Center. Beverly’s passions also included reading and travel.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Linda Veazey Mouton and her son, Larry Coltharp (Claire); four grandchildren, Ginger Veazey Newman (Ted), Joseph Mouton, Kate Coltharp Rhodes (Will), and Bobby Coltharp; two step grandchildren, Lauren and Justin Janssen; five great-grandchildren, Xander Newman, Ella Newman, Wesley Newman, Lily Rhodes and Benjamin Rhodes, and by her brother, Jay. She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 57 years, Warren Coltharp, as well as her parents and sister, Marva.
A memorial service will be held on a later date. The family asks that any donations made in her memory be made to St. George’s Episcopal Church, 1959 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana.
